Photos taken with a camera do not represent a single moment of time. Due to technological constraints these shots stand for some scene over a brief period of time. In motion blur, any object moving with respect to the camera will look blurred or smeared along the direction of relative motion.

This article presents 12 beautiful examples of motion blur in photography. This showcase isn’t supposed to be the ultimate and complete selection of motion blur images — it is supposed to provide you with some inspiration of what can be done with motion blur. Wordle Elegant Word Clouds

I’ve been having fun playing with Wordle. It is an online tool for generating beautiful “word clouds” from user-provided texts, such as plain text files. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. Users can tweak their clouds with different fonts, layouts and color schemes. Users can also print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends. The result is simple but beautiful. Here are some example that i managed to make :

Simple Black & White Photo with Color Spot

If you have a black and white photo and you want to add a color to it but you’re not really sure how to go about doing it. This is a simple little tricks how to work on it.

1. Find the photo you’d like. Under the menu, File>Open and open a black and white photo.

2. Then, go to Layer>Duplicate Layer. This will allow you to work on a copy of your photo. When you look at your Layers Palette, you will have 2 layers of your photo. Decide which part of the picture you want to colorize. Be creative! Play around with different ideas. Maybe you’ll like one over another.

3. Now, select your Pen Tool. Using the Pen Tool, you will outline whatever the shape is that you’d like to be colorized in the final piece. This may take you a little bit to do, so don’t get frustrated!

4. Now that you’ve finished outlining your shape with the Pen Tool, go to your Paths window. You can locate it at your Layer Palette window, and Paths is a tab you can click on in there.

5. In the Work Path, right click and choose “Make Selection”. It will then ask you if you want the selection feathered or not. It is up to you whether or not you want it feathered. This will soften the lines around your image. I generally keep with “0” to make the image crisper, but it’s up to you. Play around with it, and Edit>Undo if you don’t like it. This will ultimately transform your solid line into a dotted line, making it possible to now select pieces of the image with the shape you just created.

6. Back to the Layer Palette, choose the layer that you duplicate. Of course it is still black and white, so we need to add some color to this! This is extremely simple. Just go to Image>Adjustments>Variations.

7. In this little window that pops up you can create “Variations” on colors! This adds a thin layer of color directly over your image. You can make this very subtle, or you can make it very vibrant. It’s in your hands!

This is the final image that i get from this tricks.

There you go! Just as simple as that!

Happy New Year Google! I really like the new Google logo. It’s so creative. Keep it up Google, and best of luck.

It’s way better than what Yahoo has up for 2009. Still the same logo as year 2008.

Digital Design Tournament 2009

Digital Design Tournament 2009 is starting her engines. The annual call for competitors is opens, with two deadlines: January 14 for cities in North America, and February 6 for the Europe and Asia/Pacific regions.

In 2009 Cut&Paste is producing THREE competitions for it’s tournament. 2D, 3D and Motion Design will all be applicable. Also initiated are the first-ever GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP, which will throwing together the winners from each of 16 cities. That’s 48 challengers all together.
